Baby already seven weeks old and lots have happened during this time. She is getting bigger and bigger and I am finally seeing results on my body as well. It’s important that the weight loss doesn’t go too fast as the body need to adapt to the new lifestyle and not get stuck. Loosing weight too fast is the best way to never reach your results. The metabolism (which is helping to burn fat) always has to work and needs nutrition to do that correctly. Many girls believe that stop eating is the solution for weight loss but this is completely wrong on the long-term. Yes, you will lose weight (fat, but water and muscles too !) and your body will be so tired, you will be so tired because the metabolism is working in slow motion during diets. Therefore once you eat a full real meal your body will immediately stock everything as it doesn’t know when it will be fed again and get into survival mode. Eating well doesn’t mean weight gain but helping the metabolism absorb the right nutrition and dispatch them to the right places.
Of course, if you want to have results, some elements are to be excluded from your daily meals like; fat sauces, candy, french fries, etc. However you can eat all those things if you absolutely want by cutting down on something else during the day. We have therefore a thing called “cheat meal” where you are allowed to eat whatever you want and whatever quantity but should be limited to one meal. This is even an important meal to boost the metabolism but can only happen once a week or every 10 day for better results. However, the best way to boost the metabolism remains by eating healthy food and carbs of good quality (Sweet potatoes, basmati rice, quinoa, oatmeal) but in large quantities during the day. Also, don’t forget that the less sugar you eat, the less you need and the cravings will disappear.
Every person is different and needs an individual planning of what to eat to reach their goals. The same is calculated based on weight, length, objectives, sport and should be done by a professional. They will then be able to tell how much of protein, carbs and fat you should eat per meal/ day and how to combine it for a better absorbance.
The first step to get back in shape after childbirth is 80% through the food. Don’t push too hard or too soon to work out. The baby needs the energy and food. It’s not for nothing the doctors only allow sport after 3 months and no diet during breastfeeding. The organs need to get back in place before any exercises can be done not to mention the damage that can occur especially in the abdominal area. In the meantime, take long walks with your newborn. Go swimming. Yoga is also very good for both the mind and body. The rest will follow sooner than you think.Don’t rush it!!
I am halfway throu and cannot wait to get back to the gym but in the same time I am enjoying this time with my little girl. I am eating healthy and can already see some improvements, even though it’s still difficult to look in the mirror. I still have about 5-6 kg to lose to be able to wear my old clothes again. I am trying to limit my weight loss with 500 gr -1kg per week.
The hardest part to lose for me is the stomach. I have always had a flat stomach so it’s pretty hard seeing the little bump in the mirror but I know that in a few months it will be gone 🙂
Keep eating healthy and keep being positive and you shall recover in no time 🙂
Remember, this is a lifestyle, not a diet.
